Our students are bringing home their Magazine Sales Packets today! Good luck!

Our yearly Magazine Sales are starting on Monday, January 25th! A prize will be awarded to any student who sells just one magazine subscription. If a student sells 6 or more magazine subscriptions, they will earn an extra prize of their choice. They may choose between coming to the library to build a Reading Buddy (a stuffed animal), a Selfie Stick, or a 5 lb. bag of Gummy Bears! Students are not required to sell magazine subscriptions.
We are planning on using the money we earn this year to start to replace the computers the students use in the library on a daily basis. Our hope is that we can buy at least 6 new computers for the library! Magazine Sales will end on Monday, February 12th. All orders need to be turned in by that date, please. We are having our January Family Night tonight! Please stop in to check out great books with your family and make a fun Winter Key Chain! We will be here from 3:30 to 46:30 p.m. Hope to see you tonight!

It is already 2016 and we are half way through our school year! This week, we are beginning a new unit on Literary Genres. We are studying all of the different Fiction and Non-Fiction Genres, such as: Fantasy, Mystery, Adventure, Science Fiction, Historical Fiction, Realistic Fiction, Traditional Literature, Poetry, Biography, Autobiography, and Graphic Novels. We will spend about 4 or 5 weeks on this unit and then will wrap it up with an Assessment. If you are ever stuck on what to check out, think about what your favorite Genre is and try searching for a book that way!
